Has principle responsibility for the total nursing care, assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the perioperative patient. Plans, provides, and documents discharge planning, teaching, and educates patients, family or others to attain optimal health and continuity of care. Works cooperatively with ancillary, nursing, and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the surgical setting; Participates in performance improvement (PI) initiatives.

Qualifications or Skills Required:

Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing. Registered Nurse currently licensed by the State of Texas. Effective oral and written communication skills. One year experience in the operating room required. Current CPR certification; ACLS, PALS, NRP required within 6 months of hire.
